I've also got American Gods on my bookshelf and I've seen some really good comments about Anansi Boys so must add that one to the list :-)Teddyreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09553244883194436385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-1053243485282934292009-09-05T09:40:42.196-04:002009-09-05T09:40:42.196-04:00Pat--I read Joy Nash's A LITTLE LIGHT MAGIC wh...Pat--I read Joy Nash's A LITTLE LIGHT MAGIC when it first came out in May. What a great way to start (or end) the summer! And I've heard nothing but good things about THE STRANGELY BEAUTIFUL TALE OF MISS PERCY PARKER.

Deanna Gist's THE MEASURE OF A LADY was on my bedside table last April. It was an interesting peek into the days of the CA gold rush. I loved her characters.

Thank you for buying SILK DREAMS and DISTRACTING THE DUCHESS. You've chosen my darkest Diana Groe book and my first stab at light-hearted storytelling. I'll be interested to hear what you think. I appreciate your support so much! Hope you love them both.EmilyBryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03542349086762747179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-37060248484087128552009-09-05T09:31:47.158-04:002009-09-05T09:31:47.158-04:00Teddy--The "Eclectic" in your blog title...Teddy--The "Eclectic" in your blog title signals a broad spectrum of reading, but a passionate reader deserves recognition no matter the genre! I enjoy reading outside the romance genre, too. Mysteries, thrillers, quirky non-categorizable writers like Neil Gaiman, my list goes on . . .

BTW, have you tried him? My oldest daughter introduced me to his Anansi Boys--a funny, disturbing, frightening tale where fantasy and reality collide. But the story has exceedingly good bones. Gaiman uses African folk tale hero archetypes.EmilyBryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03542349086762747179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-37417621293894344422009-09-04T21:57:30.253-04:002009-09-04T21:57:30.253-04:00We will be spending the weekend catching up on all...We will be spending the weekend catching up on all the cleaning I never get a chance to do. Plus I have boxes of books that I need to sort and put away. I'll have to live to 150 to read them all.
We go on vacation in 3 weeks, so I really need to get a lot done.
I just finished WOULD-BE WITCH by Kimberly Frost and enjoyed it. Nice to read something with a sense of humor. Finished A LITTLE LIGHT MAGIC two weeks ago or so. I got THE STRANGELY BEAUTIFUL TALE OF MISS PERCY PARKER by Leanna Renee Hieber today and can't wait to read it. Started THE DEMON'S LEXICON by Sarah Rees Brennan yesterday. It's a YA book and I'm previewing it for work. Finished WILD MAGIC by Cat Weatherill last week. A middle school book about what happens after the Pied Piper leads the children from Hamlin. I'm listening to Rollins' The Doomsday Key in my car. Am almost done with COURTING TROUBLE by Deeanne Gist a christian historical romance. My TBR pile keeps getting deeper and I can't read fast enough. I bought SILK DREAMS and DISTRACTING THE DUCHESS today. Was looking for ERINSONG. Onto the pile they go.
Have a great weekend and enjoy!Patricia Barracloughnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-33000044458886183742009-09-04T19:25:11.797-04:002009-09-04T19:25:11.797-04:00Have a wonderful labour day weekend 'chillaxin...Have a wonderful labour day weekend 'chillaxing'.

We have a labour day holiday in Australia but each state is different, celebrating anywhere between March & Oct. Ours is in May, go figure??

No hints with the award, I think your blog is perfect the way it is. The sentiment behind the award is to passionately support romance novels and not be afraid to show it! I did think it was a little weird when I received it but figured I fitted in there after all, I passionately support romance while also passionately supporting horror, thrillers, fantasy LOL

Thanks for the chunky recommendation too, I haven't read it so going on my list :-)Teddyreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09553244883194436385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-46370552626728134082009-09-04T10:24:29.421-04:002009-09-04T10:24:29.421-04:00Penelope--I'm so glad you enjoyed A CHRISTMAS ...Penelope--I'm so glad you enjoyed A CHRISTMAS BALL and I'm on pins waiting for your review at Penelope's Romance Reviews!
