Gideon sounds like a charmer. I am just discovering how many different variations are o=in the paranormal genre. Since everyone writes their own variation of the rules of the characters, it must give you a lot of leeway to develop things as you wish.
This summer will be filled with summer reading programs at the library and planning what I'll do the rest of the year. We have two reunions to go to in August and Oct., so I'm planning trips.Patricia Barracloughnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-73836822479366484422009-06-19T21:57:53.266-04:002009-06-19T21:57:53.266-04:00etirv, I think it's very true that writers use...etirv, I think it's very true that writers use as much as possible from their own experiences--but that doesn't necessarily mean that the experience has to be the same the one they are trying to portray. For example, an author may be going through a divorce, but that doesn't mean they've never felt the kind of emotion needed for a particularly loving, tender scene for a book--it's a matter of drawing on those memories and using them.J.K. I don't write anything autobiographical (however much my DH wants to take credit!).

Horror writers don't need to live in a haunted house to write convincingly of terror. I know several romance writers who are divorced or are going through one. They'll use the experience, as writers use all experiences, to make their stories richer and more real.EmilyBryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03542349086762747179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-46699022318097019992009-06-19T20:47:43.438-04:002009-06-19T20:47:43.438-04:00JK! Gideon was one of my favourite heroes to write because I look at him as a combination of a few different people that I know (including primarily, my own husband) :)

Gideon is usually pretty easy going and good-natured. He's absolutely brilliant and focused. But he also feels things very deeply and has a strong sense of what's right.J.K. Last year it was a very lusty production of a MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.

And almost every week at the "Hatshell" on the Charles River, there's a free concert of some sort.

So if summer every arrives (last week we had high temps only in the 50's!) there's always plenty to do.EmilyBryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03542349086762747179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217012316587200736.post-90182935828094603182009-06-19T12:21:17.197-04:002009-06-19T12:21:17.197-04:00Hi etirv!
