Norway? (I think about Norway a lot these days, what with the Norwegian sweetie, but it seems to fit the picture. And I believe it's their national holiday today!)
I can see why you said Norway, Nynke. When I lived in Seattle, I always thought of it as America's fjord. The inland passage to Alaska is probably very like some of the Norwegian waterways with the mountains rushing straight up from the deep water.
