"You like me! You really like me!"

It's always fun to win an award and even better when the kudos come from a friend. My cyber-pal, Teddyree has honored my blog with the Premio Dardos Award. I had no idea what that means or who Premio might be, so like the good researcher I am, I googled it. Premio Dardos means "prize darts" in Italian. (And here I was thinking it might make a good Italian hero's name!)

Teddy says, "This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day."

Despite the fact that this makes me sound a little Mother Theresa-ish, I gratefully accept this award. And now comes the fun part--passing it on! Here's where I get to share the award with other bloggers I enjoy.

1. Gerri Russell's Blog - My friend Gerri can always be counted upon to share some pics of guys in kilts (Hey! That's cultural!)

2. MamaWriters- This energetic group focus on writing romance while juggling the demands of family and career! (Talk about values!)

3. Minds Alive on the Shelves - While not a romance blog, this lively site did host me one day on my 50 day/50 blog VEXING THE VISCOUNT tour. The focus of this blog is more literary than commercial fiction, but the owner Lisa is so gracious, I need to include her here. (And besides isn't this blog's title the best definition of what a book really is?)

4. WritersAtPlay - This was most fun I ever had in a blog interview! Click over for a good giggle if you missed my interview with CL Wilson the first time around. The name of the blog says it all.

5. TalkAboutMyFavoriteAuthors - For sheer volume of romance reviews and info, this blog is up there with the big girls and it's run by one spunky English major/aspiring writer, Phoebe Jordan.

6. Penelope's Romance Reviews - Penny's reading tastes are broad and she gives thoughtful, well-written reviews. I've been fortunate to receive lots of raves for my work, but Penny's insights are fresh and intensely 'quotable'--a quality my editor really prizes in reviews!

Thanks again, Teddyree! This was fun! (Be sure to check out Teddy's THE ECLECTIC READER. She always has something interesting to say.)

Now it's your turn to share, gentle reader. What blogs do you especially enjoy?

Emily, thanks so much for the wonderful compliment. I am thrilled that you are enjoying my website. I'm leaving for Florida in a few days and guess what's in my reading bag? Pleasuring the Pirate! I'll try to remember to take a picture of myself on the beach, sipping my strawberry daiquiri, while I read your book! Can't wait!- Penelope

Well YOURS! of Course Emily!! So funny I think your 50 day blog tour opened the door up to a whole new world of blog sites for many of us! But I like Maureen's Romance Writers Revenge too! They are a feisty group of pirates!! Fun and informational! Oh! just finished Vexing The Viscount! SO loved the story, and Daisy, she was a hoot, usually I am more of a hero kind of lady, But I LOVED her! Thank you so much!

Penelope--How fun! When I was writing PLEASURING THE PIRATE, I knew it was going to come out in August, so I wrote it with beach reading in mind. You'll be experiencing my PIRATE in his natural state--oh, my! That sounded naughty, didn't it? Hope you have a great time!

JaneL--Thanks so much. I'll check out Maureen's site.

Funny you should mention being a hero kind of reader. Last weekend I gave a workshop in CT and asked the writers assembled to name favorite heroes. The names flew fast and furious. Then I asked for fav heroines. It was like the tail end of popcorn in a microwave . . . name . . . . .name . . . . . . .
name. Obviously, romance readers like men, but it made me wonder if we aren't failing to write heroines worthy of remembrance. Granted, men and women are different and I celebrate those differences. But since we are inviting our readers to walk in the heroine's shoes, shouldn't we write her as strong(in a feminine way, of course) and funny and sexy as we want the hero to be?

Just food for writerly thought . . .

Thanks so much, Emily, for acknowledging Mama Writers! We were so thrilled to have you as a guest!

And may I also say, "Back at ya!" You rock!

Thanks, Renee. My hat is off to the moms who write with little ones about. When my kids were small, I used their nap time productively--as a nap for me! Or for reading to the older while the younger slept or viceversa. I so respect the ladies who are trying to juggle toddlers and Regency Rakes at the same time! (Come to think of it, those two groups may have a lot in common!)

I had my first interview on April 7th here:
(I love Phoebe, too, Emily! She's one smart cookie.)

I'll have to check out the other blogs you pimped.

Any blog of yours is a blog of mine.

OK, that didn't make sense, but you know what I mean.

Congratulations on your award!

I just finished reading Distracting the Duchess and I loved it as much as I did Vexing The Viscount! Now I'm on the lookout for a copy of Pleasuring The Pirate. :-)

Your characters are unique and memorable, and I'm looking forward to meeting more of them.

Maureen--Counting down the days till RT!

Genella--Thanks for mentioning The Chatelaines. We do have a good time there and it's worth a click just to see me in a Monica Lewinski beret!

Teddy--I'll take it (in the nicest possible way!)

Rhonda--I"m so glad you enjoyed my DUCHESS and my VISCOUNT. Right now, Dorchester Publishing is selling PLEASURING THE PIRATE for only $3.50. I think it's part of their "spring cleaning" savings.
